今日東京に少し雪が降った。
それを見て、雪に似合う音楽はなんだろうと考えたとmixiに書いている人がいた。
私はそのとき、昼食のベーグルを買いに出ていたところで、押しよせるさまざまのものを締め出そうとして、ipodでTMGEのアルバム"ロデオ・タンデム・ビート・スペクター"を聴いていた。trackは多分、"ターキー"だったと思う。
この曲はとても好きだけれど、雪に似合う曲というわけではない。
そこで今、ふと雪に似合う曲って何だろう、と少し考えた。
まず頭に浮かんだのは、ジャズピアノだった。なんとなく、雪のイメージとジャズピアノがつながったというだけで。
最初に浮かんだピアニストは、Bill Evansで、なんとなく"Green Dolphine Street"ぽいか、とも思ったのだけれど、あまりしっくりこない。
この動画はMiles Davisの"1958 Miles"に収録の"On Green Dolphin Street"だけれど、雪に似合うといえば、むしろBill Evans の"Green Dolphin Street"に収録の曲の方だと思う。
ただ、この曲が雪に似合うとしたら、今日のような、雪と雨の間のような雪ではなくて、もっと軽やかな雪のような。そんな気がする。少し楽しげで。
この曲もちょっと違うな、と思って、同じBill Evansなら、Miles Davisの"Kind of Blue"に収録の"Blue in Green"が思い浮かんだ。
これも、ちょっとクールすぎるような気がする。
かといって、Keith Jarrettは叙情的過ぎるような気がするし。
なんとなく、今の気分に合うのは、端整なBill Evansのピアノよりも、少し病んだ感じのするBrad Mehldauの方かもしれない。
Brad Mehldauのどの曲、と思っても、絞りきれない。アルバムだと"Live in Tokyo"の雰囲気かなとも思う。
